Jo McCann, RN, BSN

Founder, Owner, Operator

Jo McCann is a Registered Nurse, veteran real estate investor and devoted recovery advocate and mentor.  After becoming acutely aware of what it takes to live in recovery through experiencing her own journey in recovery, Jo combined her passion to help others, nursing skills and recovery to found Colwood Serenity House, a supported recovery home for women.  Her mission is to help as many women as possible on their path to a sustainable and fulfilling life in recovery.

Jo graduated with honors from the University of Victoria in 2005 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing and has worked in medicine, cardiology, research and management.  She is also a property diva with over 18 years experience providing a welcoming home for her residents. 

In addition, Jo is a passionate veggie-grower, divine cheesecake baker and mother of 3 wonderful children.  She currently lives with her family in beautiful Victoria, BC.

Trista Zamany, BA, ACTOC

Resident Supervisor

Through her own journey in recovery, Trista has found solace and a deep-rooted passion for helping other women recover.  Trista is certified with Addiction Care and Treatment Online Course (ACTOC) from the University of British Columbia Continuing Professional Development, Faculty of Medicine, designed in partnership with BC Centre for Substance Use and UBC School of Nursing.

In addition to recovery support, Trista assists with business development at Colwood Serenity House. After graduating with distinction in 2002 from Vancouver Island University with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Marketing, Trista entered a long and distinguished career with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.  She was awarded Fairmont’s highest sales honour three years in a row – the greatest merit afforded to only the top fifteen sellers in the entire international company.  Almost 6 years ago, Trista dipped into her entrepreneurial skills and has been working with clients to source and negotiate hotel conference contracts.

Trista, well-known in her native Vancouver Island, is a dedicated mother who values both her career and family.  During her free time, she enjoys running, paddle boarding, hiking, yoga and baking.
